Silverlight 4 beta

Published: 3 December 2009

Silverlight 4 beta, announced at PDC, is hot on the heels of Silverlight 3 released only four months ago.

Most of the new features are aimed at creating applications that can run either on the browser or the desktop. The new beta works with the beta of Visual Studio 2010 or with Visual Web Developer Express. You can also write applications that access a webcam or microphone and implement improved media delivery and use over 60 new controls. Other new features include offline DRM, local printing and a trusted mode to get Silverlight out of the sandbox and able to access desktop resources.

If you want to get started with Silverlight 4 then see Mike James’ new article.
